In partnership with Malaprop's Bookstore, this summer we're kicking off the inaugural Laughing Heart Literary Festival, a celebration of readers and books. The event will bring together a group of nationally and regionally known authors for onstage conversations about their own books and the books that have changed their lives.
These celebrated authors will be joining us for the festival: Robert Morgan, Jill McCorkle, Terry Roberts, Julia Franks, Susi Gott Seguret, Wayne Caldwell, Keith Flynn, Trent Thompson and Amy Greene. Malaprop's Bookstore will offer a special panel discussion. Please see the "Author Bios" tab at the top of the page.
The cost of admission for those attending all days of the festival will be $300. Admission includes all festival events August 1-4 and an autographed book of your choice. The cost of one-day admission, including one festival day's events and an autographed book of your choice, will be $150. *Lodging is not included.
As part of the festival, our authors will discuss the craft of writing books and the road to publication. Please see the schedule for topics of conversation.
Lodging for the festival is not included in the cost of admission. Lodging will be provided separately, by Laughing Heart Lodge. Rooms range from $40 (at Laughing Heart Hostel) to $150 a night, depending on your choice of accommodations. Some rooms are available with two beds for those wishing to share.
